READING, Pa. – Widener Women's Track and Field take first in the 4x200 relay at Alvernia's Winter Invite along with
Gabby Nye and Koita in individuals.
In the finals of the 60-meter dash,
Kayla Robinson led
Maria Muzzarelli to a 4-5 finish. Robinson clocked a 7.90 and Muzzarelli ran a 7.91 for good qualifying times for regionals.
Mariam Koita clocked in a 25.95 for first place in the 200-meter dash. Muzzarelli took third with a 26.65 and
Jayla Gore saw a 27.50. Koita's time would be a qualifying regional time.
Nye's 800-meter time of 2:26.54 would be good enough for third which led
Kathryn Long who clocked a 2:29.25.
Later in the meet, Nye took first in the mile with a 5:12.72. Long took third with a 5:19.50 and
Loralei Golembiewski took fourth with a 5:28.11. Nye and Long would run times for regionals later in the season.
A 10:51.06 from Liz Egan in the 3000-meter run would be a second place finishing race.
Meredith Schroeder snuck into 12
th with a 12:04.48 and
Erin O'Brien took 14
th with a 12:15.41
Zahara Simmons and
Sydni Bell would advance to finals in the 60-meter hurdles. Simmons came in fourth with a 9.57 and Bell finished seventh with a 9.95.
The quad of Koita, Robinson,
Erica Thomas, and
Alyssa Kolimaga took first in the 4x200 relay with a 1:46.13.
In the field, Simmons jumped a 1.50-meter high jump while Theresa Kervich jumped the same.
Amanda Simpson's pole vault of 2.45-meters would be a 19
th overall finish.
Robinson saw a distance of 5.36-meters in the long jump for a regionals qualifying distance.
Jayden McCracken led in the weight throw with a 13.10-meter distance which came on her second attempt.
Isabel Rodriguez's first indoor meet of the season saw a 11.86-meter toss.
