COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. - Widener Women's Soccer suffers its second loss of the season to the Ursinus College Bears.
The Pride fall to 1-2 on the season and remain 0-0 in conference play.
BY THE NUMBERS
· The Pride had 12 shots (4 on goal). The Bulldogs had 18 shots (7 on goal).
· Maggie Boyes scored the lone goal for The Pride.
· Isabella Losada assisted the goal.
· In goal, Nicole Rende made 5 saves.
HOW IT HAPPENED
· Ursinus took the lead early on scoring the first goal of the day at the 9:33 mark. After the first goal, Widener and Ursinus went back and forth trading shots until The Bears finally broke through, scoring their second goal of the day at the 26:32 mark. The Pride would waste no time getting back in the fight as Maggie Boyes put Widener on the board at 27:31. The goal was assisted by Isabella Losada.
· In the second half, both defenses would settle in. The Pride defense was able to stop the flurry of shots that came in from The Bears offense during the first few minutes of the half. The rest of the half saw both sides going shot for shot once again but neither side was able to come up with another score, keeping the score at Ursinus two and Widener one until the final whistle.
