CHESTER, Pa. – An afternoon of shots fall short as Widener Men's Soccer ends scoreless against Neumann.
The Pride move to 3-3-3 in the regular season and remain 0-0 in the MAC Commonwealth.
BY THE NUMBERS
- The Pride had 12 shots (4 on goal). The Knights had 7 shots (4 on goal).
- Christian Doyle and Sean Fatiga lead Widener with three shots attempted.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Pride started the match off by earning two early corner kicks at 1:12 and 4:02 but were unable to score on either attempt. Widener kept the pressure on as Christian Doyle attempted a shot at 5:04 that went over the top of the net. The rest of the first half was much of the same as The Pride would attempt seven shots but were unable to connect on any of them. The Pride defense played an outstanding first half as they limited Neumann to only two shots in the first half. After excellent defensive performances from both sides the game would go into the half tied zero to zero.
- The second half started similar to the first as Sean Fatiga attempted a shot at the 48:51 mark that was blocked. The Pride would then earn a corner kick at 49:02 but were again, unable to connect. The Widener defense carried over their momentum from the first half limiting Neumann to only five shots. Neumann and Widener were both able to completely shut down any offensive attacks the entire game and the match would end in a zero-to-zero tie.
