CHESTER, Pa. - Women's Volleyball put on a dominant performance in their home tri-match, defeating Neumann and New Jersey City.
The Pride improve to 10-4 on the season and remain 0-0 in conference play.

MaeAlice White had a strong showing for the injured Herrin, getting four kills, a service ace, a solo block, and a block assist.
HOW IT HAPPENED AGAINST NEUMANN

A 4-0 run would highlight the start of the first set as the Pride would lead 4-2 to start. Six straight from the Pride later in the set would see them up 11-4, and another 6-0 run would have the score at 17-8. The Pride would close the set off with a signature run, this time 8-1 as a Knights error would see Widener take the set 25-11.

Campbell Chronister got to work early in the second set, as her two aces and two assists would see the Pride take a 4-0 lead. Neumann's four straight points would tie the game at 5, but the Pride's 6-1 lead would retake the lead comfortably at 11-6. Widener errors would allow Neumann to come back and take the lead, going on a 0-6 run and making the score 14-16. Down 21-20, the Pride battled for the second set win but ultimately lost to a Knight kill as they would fall in the second set 25-23.

The third set was close early on as both teams were trading points. A Pride run would see them up 15-12, but a Knight run would have them retake the lead at 17-16. Late in the set, a 6-1 run would seal the set for the Pride as a Shannon Toomey kill would give them a 25-21 win.

The fourth set was a close one as two Toomey kills would tie the score 4-4. A 6-1 Pride run would see them up 10-7, and the teams would trade points down the stretch. Neuman's three-score run would close the gap as Widener led 13-12, and they would eventually force a tie game at 16. Neither team would get much of a lead in the nail-biter finish, until Neumann's 0-4 run would see Widener down 18-21. The Knights would continue their run from there, and a Neumann kill would sink the Pride 25-22.

The fifth set was all Neumann to start, as their strong hitting gave them a 1-3 lead early. A 4-1 Knight run would extend the lead to 7-2, but the Pride would come roaring back to tie the game at 7 after scoring five straight. The teams began trading points, and neither could pull away in the crucial stretch. Two straight Knight scores would put the Pride down 10-13, but the Pride's three straight would see the score tied at 13. Back-to-back Neumann errors would see Widener get the close win in the fifth set 15-13.
HOW IT HAPPENED AGAINST NEW JERSEY CITY

The first set was a game of runs early, with the aftermath being a tie game at 9. The Knights would go on a small run, but it would be Widener's 8-2 run led by Toomey's hitting that would see them up 17-15. The Pride would close out the set in their favorite way, a big 8-1 run capped off by a MaeAlice White kill to take the set 25-19.

NJC gain a lead early in the second set, as the score sat at 8-11. A monster Widener run would see them retake the lead at 20-16, but the Gothic Knights would tie at 20 all. A 5-1 run would take care of business, as Azira Benjamin's kill would give the Pride the second set at 25-21.

Neumann again would hold an early lead at 5-6, but a 6-0 Pride run would set the score at 11-6. The Pride never looked back from there, as another 6-0 run and a Liz Barnes ace would complete the sweep as Widener would take a 25-11 win.
