BY THE NUMBERS

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • The first set started tight, as neither team could gain much of a lead early despite Martucci's strong hitting. A 4-0 run led by back-to-back Barnes aces would pull the Pride to an 8-5 lead, and the Pride would score three for every Might Mac point down the stretch. Up 18-11, Isabella Ricevuto's kill and ace would spark a 7-0 closeout run that has become a signature for the team; And the Pride would take a 25-11 win.

  • The start of the second set would be highlighted by back-to-back Kristen Vacca kills as the Pride would score six to the Might Mac's one. Widener would hold their dominance over Immaculata until the opponent would score four straight to close the lead to 14-9. Kaitlyn Guessford would score two service aces on a 4-0 run for Widener to take an 18-9 lead, and an Alex Verchio kill from Meghan Prior would see the Pride take the second set 25-13.

  • The third set would be all Widener yet again, as Shannon Toomey's three kills would see the Pride get out to a 5-1 lead. Martucci would pick up two kills in a 5-0 run as Widener was commanding the set up 10-2. A 0-4 Immaculata run would see a hopeful comeback at 14-8, but Widener would trade points to maintain their lead. Up 17-10, a 5-0 run led by Toomey and Martucci's hitting would see the Pride in position to sweep with a score of 22-10.
