CHESTER, Pa. – Widener Football Head Coach Mike Barainyak announced the 2024 schedule which includes four home games. The Pride are looking to continue their upswing from their prior 7-4 (6-3 MAC) record.
 
The 2024 season schedule will feature a full lineup of MAC opponents and conclude with the Centennial-MAC Bowl Series following the final regular season schedule.
 
"We are excited to kickoff the 2024 season," said Head Football Coach Mike Barainyak. "We have a hungry and talented group who had a very productive winter and spring. We are always excited for the opportunity to compete and represent Widener University, our alumni, and our fans. The MAC is a tough conference and our players know the challenge that lies ahead."
 
Widener's 2024 campaign will commence against Lycoming on September 7 in Williamsport, Pa. Coming off a dominating 42-21 season opener last year, the Pride look to open their season strong. The following week, the Pride will take a trip to the newly renovated Eastern Eagles stadium in St. Davids, Pa. for their second ever match up. On September 21, the Blue and Gold open their home schedule with a conference game against Albright.
 
Off a bye week in week five, a visit from the Stevenson Mustangs kicks off a busy October for the hunt. Alvernia will make the trip to Hirschmann Field for the Pride's Homecoming game on October 26 where they will induct eight members for the Hall of Fame Class of 2024.
 
A revenge game against Lebanon Valley opens November as the Pride look to return the favor after last year's double overtime loss. "There is a history of how Widener football is played. Our job is to keep hunting that standard down daily." The Pride close out the regular season with their annual Keystone Cup against Delaware Valley in their final home game.
