CHESTER, Pa. - Widener Men's Volleyball stay hot, winning their second game in as many days to Drew University.Â
The Pride improve to 10-11 on the season and remain 2-5 in conference play.Â

Michael Martino had himself a day hitting, getting a game-high 15 kills. He also had an ace, solo block, and block assist.Â

Josh Matchett is back in his ways, ending with 39 assists and six kills. He also added six kills, three service aces, a solo block, and two block assists.Â

Ethan Cox was a machine on defense. He totaled two solo blocks and five block assists, as well as three kills and two service aces.Â

Widener continues to flex their blocking prowess, this time recording 12 blocks to Drew's twoÂ
HOW IT HAPPENEDÂ

Both teams were trading points early in the first set, until Martino's kills would lead a 4-0 run as Widener took a 8-5 lead. The two teams would continue to trade kills until Matchett's back-to-back kills would spark a 6-1 run to put the Pride up 20-13. Drew would score four straight, but the Pride would respond with a three-point run of their own as the score sat at 23-17. A Martino kill from Matchett would seal the set as the Pride would take a 25-19 win.Â

The Rangers would go on a run early in the second set, scoring four of five points to put the score at 4-6 early. Another Drew run would be met by a 9-1 run led by Martino's hitting to surge the Pride ahead at 16-13. Another 3-0 Pride run would have the score at 19-15. The Rangers would answer with some scores of their own to keep the set close, but again a Matchett to Martino kill would see the Pride take the 25-22 victory.Â

The Rangers again would start strong in set three, as a 7-2 run would be followed up with a 4-0 run to put the Pride down 6-12. Widener would respond with a 7-1 run highlighted by back-to-back Matchett aces to tie the score at 13. The Rangers would then go on a 6-1 run to put the Pride down 19-14, and for every Widener point Drew would score two. A 4-0 Pride run would cut the game close, but a service error would give the Rangers the win in set three at 22-25.Â

The fourth set would start close, until the Pride would score three straight to go up 7-5. The teams would trade points until Widener would explode for a 6-1 run led by Cox's blocks and kills to extend the lead to 20-14. Up 21-16, the Pride would score four straight, and a booming block from Martino would call game as the Pride would take the set and match at 25-16.Â
