CHESTER, Pa. – Myles, Segich, and Schenk put up double digits in a tight win over DeSales on Wednesday (Dec. 4) night.
The 66-64 win moves the Pride to 2-4 on the season.
BY THE NUMBER
- Myles Bright led with 18 points in 31 minutes of play.
- First year Kori Segich shot a perfect 3-of-3 from three to score 14.
- Kevin Schenk double-doubled with 10 points and 10 rebounds.
- Defensively, Jacob Aryee was credited with three steals and a block.
- The Pride out-shot the Bulldogs on the floor 45.8% to 39.3% and from beyond the arc 36.8% to 35.7%.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Off the tip the Pride began their long 40 minutes of play. Two minutes into the game Segich drained a triple to put the Pride on the board. A Bright steal allowed a fast break layup to take a 5-4 lead and begin an 8-2 run. Schenk got himself on the stat lines with a layup while Luke Mazur closed the run with a tip-in layup. Bright would go to the charity stripe for the first time and hit two good shots to take a three-point lead with 12:50 on the board. At the midway portion of the quarter Aryee put up a block to allow Alex Mostashari to snag a rebound. A slow point in the Pride scoring would allow the Bulldogs to go on a 13-0 run in two minutes. Bright ended the Bulldog run with a triple to cut the lead to seven. Back to back to back triples from Aryee, Segich, and Bright would take the lead back and head into halftime tied at 35.
- Out of half, Schenk picked up a fast break layup after a Matt Daulerio block. The Bulldogs would take a seven-point lead before Aryee put in a layup to cut the lead to five. A block from Schenk to head into a dunk from Aryee at 14:27 cut the lead down to three. Luke Mazur hit a triple to force a Bulldog timeout at 13:20. Daulerio put in a dunk from Bright while adding in two free throws to take the lead at the 10:57 mark. At 7:24, Segich hit a triple to extend the lead to five. Misses from the Bulldogs allowed the lead to stay close. A timeout driven last three minutes of play featured a layup from Schenk and a good time kill to force the Bulldogs to foul. Segich would put in a good free throw with 18 seconds left. The game ended after a last second jumper in the paint from the Bulldogs missed as the Pride took a 66-64 win.
