Robbins Drops Fourth Straight Double-Double in 2OT Win

Kutz Would also get a Double-Double in the Thriller

CHESTER, Pa. - Women's Basketball gets a hard fought 70-66 2OT win over Dickinson at home.

The Pride improve to 5-4 on the season and remain 0-0 in conference play.

BY THE NUMBERS

  • Mia Robbins continues to impress with her fourth straight double-double, finishing with 26 points and 14 rebounds with a steal and a block.

  • Lindsay Kutz would also put up a double-double, totaling 19 points and 13 rebounds along with two steals and two blocks.

  • Mary McFillin was reliable at the two-way point guard position today, getting a team best four assists adding two blocks and two steals.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • The Pride and Red Devils would both get off to a slow start to the game, with it being over a minute and a half and six possessions into the game until Dickinson would score on a fastbreak layup. Robbins would score all the Pride's points on a 5-0 run to take a 5-3 lead, but a Red Devil layup would see the score tied. Dickinson would go on a run from there, but McFillin's free throw and Riley Stackhouse's layup would cut the lead down to 8-9 to finish the first.

  • The second quarter would be back and forth as Robbins jumper and Jayla Daniels make from behind the arc would put the Pride up 13-10. The teams would trade leads as Kutz would put up a strong scoring effort for Widener, but neither team would pick up a major lead in the period. Kutz and Casiello's scoring in the paint would see the Pride tie up the game at 25 heading into the half.

  • The Pride would start the third scoring six straight thanks to Kutz and Kaitlyn Kearney, but the Red Devils would respond going on their own 9-0 run. Ava Baer's jumpshot would tie the game at 34, but another strong Dickinson scoring surge would see the quarter end 36-38 after a crafty layup from Daniels.

  • The Pride would start hot in the fourth quarter, with Kutz's put back layup putting the team ahead 42-38. The teams would again fight in a close scoring game, but McFillin's pull up jumper would give the Pride a three-point lead at 46-43. Robbins and-one layup would have the crowd explode, but a Dickinson layup with 20 seconds to go would tie the game and force overtime with a score of 54-54.

  • The first OT would see Widener go on a 7-0 run with Robbins scoring five and Kutz scoring two. Dickinson would respond with a 7-0 run of their own to tie the score at 61 each and force a second overtime.

  • In the second OT, Kutz and Robbins would put up the first four point of the game as they continued their hot hands. A Riley Stackhouse layup would see Widener take a two-possession lead at 68-63, and free throws would send the team home. After a long battle, it would be the Pride who emerged the victors at 70-66.
