OWINGS MILLS, Md. - Women's Volleyball falls in their penultimate game of the season to the Stevenson Mustangs.Â
The Pride fall to 17-11 on the season and 3-4 in conference play.Â

HOW IT HAPPENEDÂ

Back-to-back Lilyanna Martucci kills would give the Pride an early 4-1 run and a 7-6 lead in the first set. The teams would battle, until a 0-6 Mustang run would see Widener down 11-18. Another six-point run would finish the set, and a Stevenson ace would see the Pride take a 14-25 loss.Â

The Mustangs would score the first four points if set two, but the Pride would respond with a 6-0 run led by two Alex Verchio kills as the team would lead 7-5. Widener would suffer a 1-6 run and a 0-6 surge shortly after to find themselves down 15-22. A Stevenson kill would seal the set the the Pride would fall 18-25.Â

Stevenson again would come out strong, this time with an early 1-5 run to take a 3-6 lead early. The teams would trade scores for a long while, but the Mustangs would score eight straight to crack the lead open at 9-21. Widener would battle to the end, but a Mustang kill would finish the set and match as the Pride would lose 12-25.Â
