HOW IT HAPPENED
- Messiah came out of the gates hot putting multiple shots on goal in quick succession. But The Pride defense was able to step up and stop the Messiah offensive. Nicole Rende played a crucial role in keeping this game close, saving three shots in just the first half. The Pride defense was able to continue their fantastic defensive play until the 42:36 mark when Messiah finally broke through and scored the first goal of the match. The game would go into the half with The Falcons leading one to nothing.
- After Messiah took the lead at the end of the first half, it did not take them long to add on. The Falcons scored their second goal of the day at the 61:23 mark. The Pride continued to fight for the rest of the game, stopping any attempt Messiah made to extend their lead. But unfortunately for Widener they were unable to find the back of the net and would suffer a two-to-nothing conference loss.
