CHESTER, Pa. - Field Hockey's strong fourth quarter performance would result in a 3-1 homecoming win over Hood.Â
The Pride improve to 6-9 in the season and 2-3 in conference play.Â
BY THE NUMBERSÂ
HOW IT HAPPENEDÂ
-
The Pride would start slow in the first, as they allowed a goal not even a minute into play. Abby Blake would respond with saving the next shot, but the three Pride shots of the quarter were also saved, as Widener would go into the second down 0-1.Â
-
The second quarter was very defensive, as only one shot would be recorded in the period. That shot would come from Hood, but Blake would get another save on the attempt, as the score would remain 0-1 heading into half.Â
-
Widener would be a bit more aggressive in the third quarter, as 5 shots were taken, and the Blazers were held to no shot attempts. Unfortunately, none of the five shots would result in Pride points, and after three the 0-1 score would stand unchanged.Â
-
The Pride would erupt in the fourth quarter, starting with a Mackenzie Adamson goal early in the period to tie the game at 1. Less than a minute later, Adamson would find Karly Bervinchak to take the lead with only 10 minutes left to play in the quarter. The Pride would cap off the dominant quarter with a Juliana Sanchez goal as the comeback was completed with a 3-1 win. Â
