READING, Pa. - A tough defensive battle ends in a 1-2 overtime loss to Alvernia on the road.
The Pride fall to 6-10 in the season and 2-4 in conference.

HOW IT HAPPENED

The game would start defensive, with only two shots being taken in the quarter. Both were by the Pride, but neither would lead to a score, as the scoreless tie would remain after a period.

The second quarter was another physical battle, this time with only three shots taken and again all from Widener. Yet again, none of these shots would result in points and the score would stay 0-0 heading into halftime.

The third quarter would see the first score of the game, but it would unfortunately be from Alvernia. The two Pride shots in the quarter would be saved, and the quarter would end with Widener down 0-1.

Needing a goal in the fourth, three Widener shots would be saved before Sanchez would deliver with only three minutes left in the quarter to tie the score at 1-1. With no score for the rest of the period, the game would see overtime. Unfortunately, a Golden Wolf score two minutes into extra time would give them the win as the Pride would fall 1-2.
