HOW IT HAPPENED

  • After dominating in their last match up, The Pride carried over that momentum into today's match against Misericordia. Widener took an early lead thanks to a goal from Tumi Sekhampu at the 3:08 mark, assisted by Sean Fatiga. Although The Pride's offense struck quickly, they were unable to put any more shots on goal in the first half. With Widener's offense contained, their defense rose to the occasion holding The Cougars to five shots in the first half. Tristan Willey came up big saving two shots leaving Misericordia with a zero on the scoreboard heading into the half.

  • After the half, the Widener offense was still struggling to get anything going. But once again, The Pride defense stepped up holding The Cougars to two shots in the second half. The final shot from Misericordia came at the 82:19 mark where Tristan Willey came up clutch saving the potential game tying goal. After the final whistle, The Pride walked off the field at Misericordia University with a win and their second consecutive shutout.
