HOW IT HAPPENED
  • To open the game, both sides took a quick basket as Matlack put in the first points for the Pride offense. A jumper from Howie Rankine set the Pride on an 8-0 run with good triples from Matlack and Anthony DiCaro. Another triple from Mike Kane with just over half to go would put the Pride up 24-16. The Mustangs would keep the half close until a foul sent Jay-Nelly Reyes to the charity stripe to shoot two. Reyes would start a 15-0 run to chew up four minutes of clock. Triples drained left and right as Kane added another and Dunn added his first two of the game. Heading into half, Dunn capped off the scoring with a triple in the final 10 seconds to give the Pride a 55-35 lead.
  • Out of half, Mazur saw his first triple of the game on a Rankine assist. The Pride and Mustangs went back and forth for a handful of points before Rankine hit a free throw and Dunn added another triple after a blocked Mustang shot. With 8:39 on the clock, Mazur pushed the Pride over the 80-point mark with a good triple. Points continued to pile on as Reyes saw a triple fall while Matt Daulerio put in a layup to hit the 90-point mark. In the final minutes of play, Aidan McCormack hit a fast break layup and added a free throw on an And-1 shot to cap scoring at 99 team points.
