CHESTER, Pa. – Widener men's basketball continues their ascent in the D3hoops.com national rankings. After being at #17 last week, they are now at #15 and have 241 points.
In the past week, the Pride hosted the Messiah Falcons on Wednesday, Jan. 17 and the Albright Lions on Saturday, Jan. 20. Widener beat Messiah 91-53, and they won against Albright 91-67.
This week's top five in ascending order is Trinity (Conn.), Calvin, John Carroll, Case Western Reserve, and Hampden-Sydney.
In the Messiah game,
Kevin Schenk led the team with 13 points and three blocks.
Jay-Nelly Reyes,
Steven Matlack, and
Keith Gee each had two steals. In the Albright game,
Howie Rankine,
Anthony DiCaro, and
Mike Kane each had a team-best 14 points. DiCaro also had six assists.
The Pride are back in action tomorrow, Wednesday, Jan. 24. They will be in York, Pa. to face the York College Spartans at 7 p.m.
