HOW IT HAPPENED AGAINST ALBRIGHT
  • Almost immediately, the Pride and Lions exchanged buckets in rapid succession. Widener would build an early 11-4 lead within the first three minutes. They would get the lead to 10 on a Rankine steal and Kevin Schenk finish. Despite a few shots from Albright, the Pride did not let up. Consecutive triples from Dominic Dunn and Kane led to a timeout by the visitors. For the remainder of the first half, the Pride kept their lead around 20 before Albright ended on a 7-2 run. A Luke Mazur layup was the last bucket of the half. The Pride led 45-30 after 20 minutes.
  • To open the second half, the Pride had a 10-1 outburst to lead 55-31. The visitors lost opportunities to make a comeback, as turnovers began piling up. The Pride went up by 30 on a Steven Matlack three-pointer with 12:34 left. The Lions, even though they added more points to the board, could not contain Widener's scorching attack. With the lead secured, the Pride emptied their bench for the last five minutes. Matt Johnson made some good plays. Ultimately, Widener won 91-67.
