Field Hockey Takes a Loss Against Cabrini University

The Pride Fall 0-4 In Home Opener Against the Cavaliers

CHESTER, Pa. - Widener Field Hockey was bested by Cabrini University 0-4 in their home opener and final game against the Cavaliers.  

The Pride fall to 1-2 to start their 2023 season. They begin conference play October 7th against Hood College. 

BY THE NUMBERS 

HOW IT HAPPENED 

  • The first quarter was a defensive one as one Cabrini goal late in the quarter was the lone score of the first 
  • Cavalier Caroline Gallagher catches fire, assisting three goals in a row to finish the half with a score of 4-0 
  • The third quarter was a defensive battle, with sophomore goalkeeper Arwen Fithian saving six shots
  • Fourth quarter was mostly uneventful, however Arwen Fithian kept up the defensive effort with another save 

UP NEXT 
The Pride continue their season this Saturday, September 9th at Goucher College. Game starts at 7pm.
