CHESTER, Pa. – With another goal by
Christian Doyle, Widener beat the Rosemont College Ravens 1-0. Similar to their match on Friday, Sunday's match was also part of the Garnet Alumni Classic.
The Pride are 2-0-0 in the regular season. They see their first conference opponent, the York College Spartans, on Sept. 30.
BY THE NUMBERS
- Six of Widener's 15 shots were on goal.
- Widener outdid Rosemont in corner kicks (6-3).
- In goal, Ryan Van Pelt made two saves in 90 minutes of action.
HOW IT HAPPENED AGAINST ROSEMONT
- Sean Fatiga attacked early and often. He ended the match with five shots (two on goal).
- The Pride had an advantage toward the end of the match. The Ravens committed multiple red cards in the final 23 minutes.
- This is the second game in a row that Doyle has scored a goal.
- Monsif Atify added another layer of the Pride's attack. He had two shots, one of which was on goal.
