GALLOWAY, N.J. - Field Hockey falls to Stockton University 1-4 in a tough road matchup. 

The Pride are now 2-5 on the season. Conference play begins Saturday, October 7th against Hood College. 

BY THE NUMBERS 

• Maddie Hoyer had the lone goal for the Pride 

• Meredith Marsteller led the team with an assist 

• Arwen Fithian played solid defense with six saves 

• Leading in shots was Makenzie Adamson with three 

HOW IT HAPPENED 

• Stockton started the first quarter hot socring a goal late, and the quarter ended with a 0-1 score 

• Stockton picked up where they left off in the second, scoring two goals and leading 0-3 at half 

• A Maddie Hoyer goal from Meredith Marsteller puts Widener on the board, but Stockton responds to end the third quarter 1-4 

• The fourth period saw back and forth defense, as no goals were scored and the game ended 1-4 

UP NEXT 

Widener will look to right the ship at home against DeSales. That game is set for Saturday, Sept. 30 at 1pm.
