CHESTER, Pa. – Despite being down 2-0 against the Stevens Institute of Technology Ducks, the Pride stormed back to win 3-2 to keep their undefeated record alive.
The Pride are 8-0-0 in the regular season. They see their first conference opponent, the York College Spartans, on Saturday, Sept. 30.
BY THE NUMBERS
- Widener had nine shots, seven of which were on goal. Stevens had 11 shots, five of which were on goal.
- The Pride had five corner kicks, compared to three from Stevens.
- In goal, Ryan Van Pelt made three saves.
HOW IT HAPPENED AGAINST STEVENS
- The Pride went down 2-0 because of two goals from Stevens' Bruno Andino. They stormed back, however, with three unanswered goals.
- Sean Fatiga continued his scoring streak. He scored two goals in the second half, 15 minutes apart. It was also on his birthday.
- Jordi Lopez recorded his fifth assist of the year.
- There were seven yellow cards total. Stevens was responsible for three of them.
- With the match going for a tie, Christian Vetter saved the day with a goal with 15 seconds remaining. The Pride had just done a corner kick.
- Fatiga led the team with three shots on goal.
- This week, Widener men's soccer was listed at #19 on the United Soccer Coaches DIII Top 25 poll.

The Pride will be back home on Saturday, Sept. 30 at 4 p.m. to host the York College Spartans. That will be the third of three consecutive home matches.
