Carman Scores Again as Women’s Soccer Earns Second Win in a Row

The Pride are now 2-0-1 at Home

CHESTER, Pa. – Alyssa Carman scored a goal for the second consecutive match, as Widener beat the Arcadia University Knights 1-0.

The Pride are 2-2-4 in the regular season. They will play their first conference match against the York College Spartans next Saturday, Sept. 30.

BY THE NUMBERS
  • The Pride had 14 shots (10 on goal). Arcadia had 11 shots (four on goal).
  • The Knights had five corner kicks, compared to one from Widener.
  • Nicole Rende made three saves in goal.
HOW IT HAPPENED AGAINST ARCADIA
  • Carman was responsible for six shots, with five being on goal.
  • Madison Blackshire added an assist on the Carman goal. It is her second assist of the season.
  • The Pride were assessed two yellow cards.
  • Widener was aggressive in the middle of the second half. They took three shots in about four minutes.
  • Maggie Boyes and Blackshire had two shots each. They were tied for second on the team in shots.
UP NEXT
The Pride are at home once again on Wednesday, September 27 at 7 p.m. They will host the Swarthmore College Garnet. The match will be a part of "Awareness for Suicide Prevention."
