Men’s Soccer Undefeated Through Six Matches as the Pride Beat Moravian

Sean Fatiga's Two Goals Helped Widener Cruise Past the Greyhounds

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – With a 3-1 victory against the Moravian University Greyhounds on Tuesday, the Pride continue to sit at the top of the MAC Commonwealth standings.

The Pride are 6-0-0 in the regular season. They will play their first conference match against the York College Spartans on Saturday, Sept. 30.

BY THE NUMBERS
  • The Pride took 15 shots (six on goal). The Greyhounds had nine shots (four on goal).
  • Two of the three Widener goals were unassisted. On the first goal, Stefano Turano picked up his second assist of the season.
  • In goal, Ryan Van Pelt made three saves and allowed one goal.
HOW IT HAPPENED AGAINST MORAVIAN
  • Sean Fatiga recorded four points against the Greyhounds by scoring two goals. He had one in each half.
  • Both offenses were aggressive early. Van Pelt and Moravian goalie Andrew Remias recorded two saves each within the first 18 minutes.
  • The Pride had five corner kicks, compared to two by Moravian.
  • Five yellow cards were assessed in this match, all of which came in the second half. Widener was responsible for two of them.
  • Hector Suriel scored his first goal of the season in the 53rd minute.
  • Michael Donaghy was second only to Fatiga in shot attempts. Donaghy had three shots (one on goal).

The Pride are back home on Saturday, September 23 at 1 p.m. They will take on the Misericordia University Cougars.
