WILKES-BARRE, Pa. –Widener women's soccer, despite good play on Saturday, ended with a scoreless draw to the Wilkes University Colonels. It is their fourth scoreless draw of the season.
The Pride are 0-2-4 in the regular season. They will play their first conference match against the York College Spartans on Sept. 30.
BY THE NUMBERS
- The Pride had 13 shots (seven on goal). The Colonels had 10 shots (three on goal).
- In goal, Nicole Rende made three saves.
HOW IT HAPPENED AGAINST WILKES
- The Pride were aggressive early on. Wilkes' goalie made two saves in the first 10 minutes of play.
- Alyssa Carman led the team with four shots (two on goal).
- There were only four total corner kicks in the match. Widener had one.
- Rende made her first save of the day in the 25th minute.
- Looking to break the tie, Carman had a shot that was just wide in the 89th minute.
- Wilkes was assessed a yellow card with 11 seconds remaining in regulation.
