MORRISVILLE, NY - Down two sets, the Pride tried to make a resurgent comeback. The team took two sets back, but were ultimately defeated in the 5^th with a final of 2-3.

The Pride are now 0-1 in their season but have until September 20^th until they see conference play against Messiah.

How it happened

• Megan Barthol makes many key assists down the stretch of the first set, but the loses control late 22-25
• Lilyanna Martucci and Abagail Herrin make big plays at the end of the second set, but ultimately lose the set again 22-25
• Kill by Liz Barnes from Rachel DiCarlo gives Widener their first set 25-18
• Multiple attack errors see the Pride take the fourth set 25-18
• Shannon Toomey makes a big kill late in the final set, but the Pride fall 16-14
