CHESTER, Pa. – In a final qualifier meet,
Donna Holt of Widener women's track and field runs a school record 800-meter race.
HOW IT HAPPENED AT WIDENER FINAL QUALIFIER
TRACK
Opening the Widener Final Qualifier was the 4x100 relay team of
Maria Muzzarelli,
Jayla Gore,
Olivia Giannella, and
Kelly Barr. The team ran near a near record time of 48.20.
Elise Daniel took to the track in the 400-meter hurdles where she ran a 1:07.61.
In the preliminaries of the 100-meter dash, Gore and Muzzarelli qualified for finals after a 12.26 and 12.37 race. The two did not race in finals.
In a lap around the track, Barr clocked a 58.41 to fall just off her personal best time of 57.29.
Tara Ford also competed and ran a 1:02.03.
Emma Schultz came in just behind Ford with a 1:02.40.
The 800-meter run featured
Donna Holt and
Katelyn Bernotas. Holt's 2:15.11 became a new Widener record by 0.01. Bernotas would come in with a 2:16.44.
Jaden Sweely had a new personal best in the mile as she ran a near Widener record. Sweely's 4:46.00 ranks her second in school history behind
Gabby Nye's 4:45.15 run from earlier this season.
FIELD
Savannah Steger jumped in the pole vault and had a highest jump of 3.10 meters.
In the hammer throw,
Isabel Rodriguez threw a 47.75-meter throw to set a new personal best and better her mark in the Widener All-Time Top 10 list.

Widener will hit the track and field on Wednesday, May 17 at the AARTFC Championships. Events are scheduled to start at noon.
