CHESTER, Pa. – Widener women's lacrosse is heading to the postseason in their first season under head coach
Sophie Bass. The Pride will host the Albright College Lions in the 4/5 seed matchup.
Widener went 10-7 in the regular season with a 5-3 conference record. Their final regular-season game was a 15-4 loss on Saturday, April 29 against York College. York is the top seed in the MAC Commonwealth.
Albright also had a 10-7 record overall, but they possess a 4-4 record in conference play. While their home record was underwhelming, the Lions were a blistering 7-1 on the road. Their only road loss was to York.
The Pride and the Lions faced off on Wednesday, April 12 at Albright. It resulted in a 12-8 Widener victory.

Catherine Scott each scored three goals.
Senior
Katie Ward was a star for the Pride this season. She led Widener in goals (46), points (58), shots on goal (65), free-position goals (14), and free-position shots (26). She was second in shots (84) only behind
Jamie DeHaven's 88. Ward started all 17 games she played in.
DeHaven, a junior, also had a stellar season. Her 34 goals, 15 assists, and 49 goals were all second-most for the Pride. Fifty-eight of her 88 shots were on goal. She was second in draw controls (60), which only trailed
Clark Trowbridge's 67. DeHaven started all 17 games she played in.
The winner of this game has a tough task ahead of them, as they would take on York College on Wednesday at 4 p.m. The Spartans ended the regular season on a six-game winning streak.
