NEWTOWN, Pa. - Widener Women's Lacrosse earns five MAC Commonwealth All-Conference selections, as announced by the conference office on Wednesday (May 6).
Following a trip to the MAC Commonwealth Semifinal on April 29, in Grantham, Pa., against No. 15 nationally ranked and first-place Messiah University, the Pride closed out the 2026 campaign. Widener ultimately fell 14-4 in the conference semifinal matchup, bringing their season to a close after a 10-8 (4-3) season.
The Pride would earn two first team selections, two second team selections, and one honorable mention.
Sophomore midfielder Claire Lynch headlines the First Team selections after an outstanding all-around season. Lynch played and started in 17 games, was second on the Pride with 43 goals and adding two assists for 45 points. She also contributed 44 draw controls, 31 ground balls, and 19 caused turnovers. Lynch posted a season-high six goals and seven points in a dominant win over Eastern on April 1, while also recording five-goal performances against Swarthmore and Alvernia. She closed the season with strong offensive production down the stretch, including 13 goals over her final five games.
Senior defender Kasey Thornton also earns First Team honors after anchoring the Widener defense throughout the season. Thornton started all 18 games and totaled 26 caused turnovers and 30 ground balls while serving as a consistent presence in the defensive unit. She recorded a season-high four caused turnovers in a win over Albright and added a key ground ball performance against Alvernia. Thornton also scored her lone goal of the season in a win over Eastern and helped stabilize the defense throughout conference play.
Senior attacker Jessica Mantz earns Second Team All-Conference recognition after leading the Pride offense with 51 goals and four assists for 55 points across 18 starts. Mantz added 13 free-position goals and three game-winning goals while also contributing 34 draw controls and 19 ground balls. She posted a six-point performance against Misericordia and a five-goal outing in a win over Albright. Mantz was a consistent scoring threat throughout the season and closed her senior campaign as one of Widener's top offensive contributors.
Junior midfielder Alyssa Ruggiero joins Mantz on the Second Team after a strong two-way season. Ruggiero started all 18 games and recorded 27 goals and one assist for 28 points while adding 34 draw controls, 37 ground balls, and 19 caused turnovers. She posted a season-high five points in a win over Immaculata and added key multi-goal performances against Albright and Hood. Ruggiero also recorded five draw controls in the win at Hood and continued to provide versatility on both ends of the field throughout the season.
Sophomore goalkeeper Madison Warlow earns All-Conference Honorable Mention after a steady season in net for the Pride. Warlow appeared in 18 games, making 17 starts and logging 895:36 minutes in goal. She totaled 128 saves and posted a .444 save percentage while facing 418 shots. Warlow recorded a season-high 12 saves in a strong performance against Messiah and added multiple double-digit save outings throughout the year, including 11-save efforts against St. Mary's (Md.) and Haverford. She anchored several key wins for Widener and provided consistency in goal throughout the season.
