HOW IT HAPPENED AGAINST ROANOKE
- The Pride had a slow start to the game, as the Maroons jumped to a 7-0 lead. A Dominic Dunn jumper was the initial bucket for Widener. The Pride slowly chipped away at their deficit, but Roanoke kept the lead. At 9:09, a Roanoke triple would balloon the lead to 13. However, Widener never gave up. Out of a timeout, a Kevin Schenk three was a momentum-starter. The Pride would end the half on a 12-2 outburst to tie the score at 37 going into the locker room.
- Although a triple from Roanoke began the second half, a Schenk jumper was the opening shot from Widener. The Maroons' lead continued to slip away, and a three-pointer from DiCaro at 16:03 put the Pride on top. It was the beginning of a whopping 17-1 push. Despite Roanoke trying to trim their deficit to 10, Widener prevented them from gaining momentum. The dagger was at 3:17, when Steven Matlack hit a contested step-back triple as the shot clock expired. A 5-2 Roanoke run to end the half made the final score 85-74.
