FREDERICK, Md. - Widener Women's Volleyball gets their first in-conference win in a nail-biter at Hood College. 

The Pride improve to 10-6 on the season and rise to 1-2 in-conference. Conference play will continue Tuesday, October 10^th against Stevenson University. 

BY THE NUMBERS 

• Shannon Toomey leads team in kills with 17 

• Megan Barthol with a team-leading 48 assists 

• Two Abigail Herrin blocks led the team 

HOW IT HAPPENED 

• Tied at 12, Widener caught stride and didn't look back to win the set 25-15 

• The second set was tied late at 26 until two Shannon Toomey gets two kills and Alex Verchio finishes the set 28-26 

• The Pride stumble in the third set, losing it 18-25 

• Widener is taken down again in a close fourth set 20-25 

• In the final set, Megan Barthol connected with her teammates for nine assists including the final Abigail Herrin kill as Widener wins the set and match 15-10 

UP NEXT 

The Pride will look to continue their three-win streak at home against Stevenson University. That game is set for Tuesday, October 10^th at 7pm.
