ST. DAVIDS, Pa. – For the fifth time this season, Widener women's soccer recorded a scoreless tie. They earned a draw on Tuesday against the Eastern University Eagles.
The Pride are 5-6-5 on the season. They are 3-2-1 against MAC opponents.
BY THE NUMBERS
- The Pride had 12 shots (five on goal). The Eagles had 13 shots (eight on goal).
- Widener had five corner kicks, compared to four from Eastern.
- In goal, Samantha Coon made eight saves.
HOW IT HAPPENED AGAINST EASTERN
- Four players each had two shot attempts: Maggie Boyes, Nicole Buonavolta, Kelly Barr, and Madison Blackshire.
- Boyes put a shot up within the first 90 seconds of action. It was wide, however. The Pride would continue to shoot until 37:20, where their final attempt of the first half was saved.
- The match came down to the wire, with Buonavolta just missing a shot to the left with 23 seconds left in regulation.
- Eastern had seven fouls. Widener only had five.
- One yellow card was assessed on each side. Barr got one at 85:16.
