CHESTER, Pa. – Widener women's soccer earned a 1-0 win against the Hood College Blazers on Friday, thanks to a
Kelly Barr goal.
The Pride are 3-6-4 on the season. They are 1-2 against MAC opponents.
BY THE NUMBERS
- Widener had 18 shots (seven on goal). Hood had six shots (two on goal).
- The Pride had three corner kicks, compared to one from the Blazers.
- In goal, Samantha Coon had two saves.
HOW IT HAPPENED AGAINST HOOD
- The Pride were aggressive throughout the match. They forced the Blazers' goalie to make six saves.
- With the end of the first half approaching, Barr scored at the 40:13 mark. It was her third goal of the season, which tied her with Alyssa Carman for the team lead.
- Maggie Boyes picked up her first assist of the season.
- Carman and Abby Picollo led the Pride with four shots each. Ciara Minkel led the team with two shots on goal.
- The Blazers had 14 fouls, compared to nine from the Pride.
- There were no yellow or red cards assessed in this match.
