SALISBURY, Md. – Widener men's basketball team extended their win streak to five games after a close call on the road against Salisbury.
Following the victory, the Pride advance to 11-4 in regular season play and remain 5-2 in the MAC Commonwealth.

- Graduate student Dominic Dunn registered 21 points to lead the Pride.

HOW IT HAPPENED IN MAGGS CENTER
Steven Matlack jumped the Pride out to a quick lead with a jumper 10 seconds into the game. Minutes later,
Pat Holden extended the lead to four with a quick jumper following a Lewis rebound. Following Seagull Buddah Spencer's free throw, Dunn erased any potential momentum with a three pointer from Holden to push the Pride to a 7-1 lead with 17:18 remaining. The Seagulls battled back to bring the game within a point but found themselves with a lost ball which ended in a foul and a pair of free throws for
Kevin Schenk to make the score 11-8. For the next seven minutes, the Pride's momentum slowed to turn the lead over to the Seagulls for the first time with just under five in the first. Dunn and
Myles Bright began to minimize the Seagull with a pair of foul shots and layups which cut the lead to two. Heading into halftime, the Pride remained down two 35-33. As a team the men shot 13 of 32 (40.6%) from the floor, 3 of 9 (33.3%) from beyond the arc, and went a perfect 4 of 4 from the line.
Coming out of halftime, the Pride rallied to shoot 17 of 28 (60.7%) from the floor, 5 of 8 (62.5%) from the three line, and 4 of 7 (57.1%) from the line. The Pride got off to a slow start after a Seagull run. At 16:09, Lewis got things going for the Pride to score the first points of the half. Dunn followed shortly after with a jumper to make the score 46-39 in favor of the Seagulls. Matlack drained a three and a free throw to cut the lead back to seven again. As time ticked down under the halfway mark, Dunn, Matlack, and Holden each hit a three pointer to swing the momentum with seven minutes on the board. With 4:55, Bright tied the game at 66 from a layup off a Holden assist. Schenk gave the lead back to the Pride with 3:02 remaining from a Brandon Craig turnover. From there the Blue and Gold went on a 6-2 run to run the clock down to the buzzer. The 6-2 run swung the Pride to a 76-72 victory on the road. As a team the men earned 34 points in the paint, 22 points off turnovers, and battled hard with four lead changes.
