CHESTER, Pa. - The Widener University men's soccer team faced visiting SUNY-Cortland in its second contest of the season, but ultimately fell to the Red Dragons by a score of 5-2.
With the loss, the Pride dropped to 0-2 on the young season.
HOW IT HAPPENED AGAINST SUNY-CORTLAND
- The Pride fell Into a 2-0 hole In the first half after allowing goals In the 15th minute and 43rd minute.
- The Pride came back in the second half as Andrew Hurrell scored In the 55th minute off a pass from Michael Donaghy. After SUNY-Cortland scored in the 62nd minute to take a 3-1 lead, the Blue and Gold cut the deficit to one again after Carter Hoover scored a goal In the next minute.
- Despite a late Widener push, the Red Dragons would never relinquish the lead and added two insurance goals to end the game.
