Women’s Soccer Upends Lycoming

Pride get back to .500 on season

CHESTER, Pa. Emily Schall and Madison Blackshire each scored a goal to help the Widener women's soccer team take down Lycoming, 2-0, on Saturday at Elizabeth J. Hirschmann Field at Leslie C. Quick, Jr.Stadium.
 
The victory put the Pride at 3-3-2 on the season
 
HOW IT HAPPENED AGAINST LYCOMING 
  • After 36 minutes of scoreless action, the Pride got on the scoreboard in the 37th minute when Schall hit a shot from the right side into the back left corner of the net. The Pride took that 1-0 lead into halftime.
  • In the second half, the Pride made it a 2-0 lead after Madison Blackshire scored off a pass from Ciara Minkel
  • Samantha Coon secured the shutout by notching seven saves. 
 
UP NEXT
Widener hosts Stevens on Wednesday in a non-conference match. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m.
