Field Hockey Beats Immaculata for Fourth Straight Win

How-Consiglio moves into 10th all-time in goals in Pride’s 3-0 victory

CHESTER, Pa.-The Widener field hockey team won its fourth straight game on Wednesday night by topping Immaculata, 3-0, at Edith R. Dixon Field.

The Pride are now 5-2 on the season.

HOW IT HAPPENED AGAINST IMMACULATA
  • The Pride scored all three of their goals in the first half. Senior Margaret Howe-Consiglio scored two of those goals, knocking the first  one into the cage almost four minutes into the action and the second one four minutes into the second quarter. Kate Labezius added the third goal two minutes later.
  • With her pair of goals, Howe-Consiglio moved into a tie for 10th place on Widener's all-time career goals list with 23 goals. 
  • The Pride dominated most of the possession, outshooting the Mighty Macs, 18-0. The Pride tallied over 18 shots in a game for the fourth straight game. The Pride also put 11 shots on goal.
  • The Blue and Gold took a whopping 15 penalty corners in the game, with eight of them coming in the second period. The 15 corners were a season high.
  • In the net, first-year Lily Rejrat and Abby Blake combined on the shutout.
UP NEXT
The Pride hit the road Saturday to take on Stevenson in a MAC Commonwealth game. Game time is set for 1 p.m.
