ASTON, Pa. - The Widener University women's volleyball team came away with its second straight win after it swept Gallaudet, 25-11, 25-20, 25-21, on Saturday afternoon at Neumann University.
The Pride improved to 2-8 on the season.
HOW IT HAPPENED AGAINST GALLAUDET
- The Pride opened the match by earning its biggest win in a set so far this season, topping the Bison by 14 points. The Pride win the last 10 points of the game.
- The Pride won the next two sets in closed fashion. In the second set, the Pride were clinging to a 23-20 lead before scoring on a service error and Lilyanna Martucci earning a kill on a block error to win the game. In the third game, the Blue and Gold held a 21-20 lead before winning four of the final five points of the set.
- Martucci led the Pride by posting a second straight double-double with 11 kills and 11 digs.
- Megan Barthol handed out a match-high 25 assists.
- Emily Miller made an impact on the front line, totaling four blocks.
- Rachel DiCarlo and Shelby Motz also played well defensively, making 10 digs apiece.
