Hector Suriel scored a goal in the first half to help the Widener University men's soccer team earn its second straight win Friday by beating Susquehanna, 1-0, on the road.
This victory puts the Pride at 2-3 on the season.
HOW IT HAPPENED AGAINST SUSQUEHANNA
- The Pride got into attack mode from the get-go, as it took eight shots in the first half. The biggest shot came from Suriel, who came off the bench and knocked the ball into the back of the net in the 40th minute for his first career goal.
- In the second half, the Pride added six more shots to their tally. The Pride outshot the River Hawks, 14-6, and took nine corner kicks on the night.
- Sean Fatiga led the Pride with five shots, two of which were on goal. Christian Doyle and Kevin Witkoski added two shots apiece.
- Goalie Ryan Van Pelt posted his first shutout of the season while making two saves in goal.

Widener will return to Chester on Wednesday for a match against Neumann at Elizabeth J. Hirschmann Field at Leslie C. Quick, Jr. Stadium. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
