Jesse Schlosser matched her school record for assists in a game and
Margaret Howe-Consiglio scored twice as the Widener University field hockey defeated Drew, 5-0, on Tuesday night on the road.
The Pride improved to 3-2 on the season.
HOW IT HAPPENED AGAINST DREW
- Schlosser tied her school record for assists in a game with three assists. The graduate student also moved into third place all-time in Widener history with 20 career assists.
- Schlosser got the offense going by assisting on Howe-Consiglio's first goal of the game in the 15th minute. Then, Bryn Marcavage knocked in a tip-in goal from the left post off a pass from Eleanor Gieser to give the Pride a 2-0 lead at halftime.
- Schlosser dished out her second assist one minute into the third quarter after finding Makenzie Adamson, who hit a backhanded shot high into the cage. Seven minutes later, first-year Alex Quartapella scored her first career goal after stealing a pass and firing it into the cage.
- Then in the fourth period, Schlosser tied her mark after Howe-Consiglio scored for the second time off a breakaway. Howe-Consiglio's pair of goals give her 18 goals for her career.
- Lilly Rejrat and the Pride defense posted a shutout.
