CHESTER, Pa.- The Widener baseball team's offense continued to stay hot, as it scored a 16-2 victory over Albright in its MAC Commonwealth game Friday at Kelchner Field.
With the win, the Pride improved to 18-14 on the season and are 7-3 in MAC Commonwealth play. The victory put the Pride in a four-way tie for second in the conference with York, Alvernia and Stevenson.
HOW IT HAPPENED AGAINST ALBRIGHT
- The Pride scored over 10 runs for the fifth time in six games after pushing across six runs in the second inning, two in the third, four in the fourth, two in the fifth and two in the seventh. The Pride lead the MAC Commonwealth in runs per game with 9.5.
- Bryce Fremgen led the Pride at the plate, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three doubles and two RBIs. The senior first baseman had an RBI single in the fourth inning and an RBI double in the fifth inning.
- Stephen Posner drove in three runs while going 2-for-2. Jason Morgan, Justin Costanzo and Garrett McClain each drove in two runs in the win.
- Chris Sparacino fired a complete game on the mound, allowing two earned runs on eight hits while striking out seven in the win.

The Pride will be back in action Saturday when they host Stevenson in a MAC Commonwealth doubleheader on Senior Day. Game one is set for noon, with the nightcap taking place at 3 p.m.
