Baseball Places Five on CSC Academic All-District

GREENWOOD, In. – Widener Baseball earns five spots on the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District for the 2025-26 season for their excellence on the field and in the classroom.

The CSC Academic All-District program recognizes outstanding student-athletes who maintain at least a 3.50 GPA while competing at a high level in their respective sports. With more than 33,000 nominations submitted annually, the honor places student-athletes among the nation's elite academically and athletically. The program, established in 1952, serves as the first step toward Academic All-America® consideration.
 
Representing Widener this year is Kevin Bukowski, Sean Burke, Ryan Madden, Hayden O'Neill, and Brendan Raven.

Kevin Bukowski displayed one of the most dangerous bats in the MAC, Bukowski paced the Pride with 15 home runs and 52 RBI while hitting .354 over 43 games. His .762 slugging percentage and 112 total bases led the team, making him a constant power threat in the middle of the lineup. He consistently delivered in key situations and established himself as one of the conference's premier offensive performers.

Sean Burke provided a steady offensive presence, batting .271 with 12 doubles, five home runs, and 29 RBI. His ability to reach base (.401 OBP) and drive the ball into the gaps helped anchor Widener's lineup throughout the season. A reliable contributor from start to finish, Burke's consistency helped spark the Pride offense in crucial moments.

Ryan Madden a versatile contributor for the Pride, appeared in 40 games and hit .262 while providing strong defensive play. He also contributed on the mound, striking out nine batters in 5.1 innings of relief work during the season. His willingness to fill multiple roles made him a valuable asset and gave Widener flexibility throughout the year.

Hayden O'Neill emerged as one of Widener's key starters, making 11 appearances with nine starts and logging 51 innings. The right-hander earned three wins while striking out 29 batters and provided valuable innings throughout the spring. His ability to take the ball in important conference matchups helped stabilize the Pride's rotation.

Brendan Raven supplied production both at the plate and behind it, batting .245 with four home runs and 28 RBI. His patience at the plate resulted in 22 walks, while his discipline helped guide the Pride's pitching staff all season long. As one of the team's veteran leaders, Raven's presence was instrumental in both the development and success of Widener's pitching staff.
