CHESTER, Pa. - The Widener women's basketball team faced Stevenson in their third MAC Conference game but was unable to walk away with a win Wednesday evening at Schwartz Athletic Center.
The Pride is now 2-7 on the season and 0-3 in MAC Conference play.
BY THE NUMBERS
- Jordan D'Ambrosio led the Pride with 13 points, followed by Mia Robbins who score eleven.
- Gianna Samuels had four assists and forced a steal for the Blue and Gold.
- The Pride scored 26 points in the paint and six points coming off the fast break.
- Defensively, Mia Robbins grabbed twelve rebounds and had two steals.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Pride had a comfortable lead in the first quarter, finishing it with an eight-point lead. The Mustangs came back out in the second quarter and changed the game's momentum after a good three-pointer put them ahead and kept them ahead to finish the half. The second half brought the best out of both teams as they went back and forth, with neither team seeing a gap in the score higher than four points. The lead in this game changed nine times. It was not until there was a minute and a half remaining in the game that Stevenson got hot, took the lead, and ran with it for the win.
