CHESTER, Pa. - The Widener men's basketball team battled hard against Stevenson but could not walk away with a win Wednesday evening at Schwartz Athletic Center.
The Pride is now 6-3 on the season and 2-1 in MAC conference play.

Steven Matlack led the night with 16 points for the Pride, followed by Pat Holden and Kenny Lewis who both chipped in eight points.

The Pride scored 16 points in the paint and six points from the bench.

Pat Holden and Dominic Dunn led the night with four assists each.

Defensively, Kenny Lewis had ten rebounds, five offensive, and five defensive.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Pride got off to a strong start, giving themselves an early lead, and found themselves leading by ten points at the half. Coming out in the second half, The Pride and Stevenson went back and fourth, but with thirteen minutes remaining in the half, the Mustangs took the lead after a good three-pointer brought the score to 31-30. The Pride and Mustangs continued to battle one another, keeping the score within four points but Stevenson found their groove and went on to take a 15-point lead to walk away with the win.

The Pride travel to St. Davids to take on Eastern in another doubleheader with the women's teams on Saturday. The men's game is set for 3 p.m.
