ST. DAVIDS, Pa. – Widener men's basketball hung tough against the Eastern Eagles in a MAC Commonwealth matchup on Saturday afternoon.
 
Following the 87-80 loss, the Pride fall to 6-4 in regular season play and drop to 2-2 in the MAC Commonwealth.
 
BY THE NUMBERS
	- Dominic Dunn tallied 20 points to lead the Pride in points scored.
 
	- Graduate student Kenny Lewis grabbed eight rebounds with Kevin Schenk following behind with seven.
 
	- Defensively, Pat Holden stole the ball three times.
 
	- From the bench, Luke Mazur added nine points to the total.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED IN ST. DAVIDS
 
The Pride took the Eagles to the end and fought hard. In the first half, the Pride dropped 49 points to the Eagles 35 to go into halftime with a 14-point lead. The team shot 20 of 25 (57.14%) from the floor while also shooting 8 of 13 (61.5%) from beyond the arch. Defensively the team grabbed 12 rebounds off of missed Eagles shots and snagged seven off of missed offensive shots.
 
The second half posed a struggle against a heated Eagles offense as they dropped 52 points to the Pride's 31. The men pushed through to close the lead gap with 11 field goals, 3 three-point buckets, and six free throws. Lewis and team saw 16 rebounds to help tighten the margin. Throughout the game the Blue and Gold tallied 36 points in the paint, 13 points off turnovers, and 10 points off fast breaks. From the bench, the men added 15 points.
