RESULTS
CHESTER, Pa. – The Widener women's swimming team tack another victory on their record with a non-conference win against Immaculata on Wednesday evening.
After Wednesday's victory of 132-58, the women move to 5-2 on the season and remain 3-1 in Middle Atlantic Conference rankings.
HOW IT HAPPENED IN THE SCHWARTZ CENTER
- The women open the meet with a 4:23.78 400 medley relay victory consisting of Sophia Sapnas, Anna Durboraw, Sally Meyers, and Azaria Luckey.
- Senior Teresa LaPointe out paces the field in the 1000 freestyle with a victory time of 12:41.50.
- One event later, Gabby DiGiovanni splits Immaculata's first and third with a time of 2:09.59 just being out touched.
- Sophomores Olivia Downs and Durboraw each come away with an individual victory in the 50 freestyle and 200 individual medley. Downs touched in 26.93 in the 50 free while Durboraw hit the wall in a 2:27.46 in the individual medley.
- Teammate Eunice Bae added a second place to her name in the 50 freestyle (30.69).
- Coming out the break, Meyers picked up an individual win in the 100 fly with a final time of 1:02.92.
- Downs continued her win streak with another in the 100 freestyle (58.87).
- The women's backstroke group added a sweep to their meet from Sapnas (1:04.80), LaPointe (1:15.43), and Bae (1:16.52).
- The Pride's distance group struck again with DiGiovanni hitting the fall first in 5:59.02 in the 500 freestyle.
- The Blue and Gold close out the meet with two additional victories in the 100 breast and 400 freestyle relay.
- Durboraw picked up an additional 9 points, followed closely behind by junior Shefalee Rane (1:22.06) in the 100 breast.
- Widener closed out the meet with DiGiovanni, Sapnas, Luckey, and Downs sealing a victory in 3:59.90.
