RESULTS
CHESTER, Pa. – Widener University men's swimming took home a victory in non-conference play against Immaculata's Mighty Macs in the Schwartz Center Wednesday evening.
After Wednesday's victory of 116-44, the men move to 5-2 on the season and remain 3-1 in Middle Atlantic Conference rankings.
HOW IT HAPPENED IN THE SCHWARTZ CENTER
- The Pride open the meet with 11 points in the 400-medley relay (Patrick Rauch, Jason Mongiovi, Patrick Rankin, Joshua Cunningham) in a time of 3:49.44 to set the tone for the evening.
- Sophomore Isaiah Moreef added an additional nine points in the 1000 freestyle touching first at 11:47.21.
- Teammate Shane Douthit kept things rolling for the Pride with a second place in the 200 freestyle (1:57.13) followed by junior Sean Hourican (2:03.61).
- Rauch added a second win in the slash and dash 50 freestyle (23.11) with teammate Jonathan Bell two seconds behind (25.76).
- Right before the break, Cunningham took the 200 individual medley in a time of 2:08.19.
- Preceding the break, Mongiovi records his second win in the 100 fly (53.58) setting his fastest season time.
- Douthit registers his first individual win of the meet, picking up a first in the 100 back (58.22).
- The Pride's distance group was on today with senior Zachary Anderson picking up 9 in the 500 freestyle in 5:26.36.
- Moreef continued his individual run with a win in the 100 breast (1:16.03).
- The Blue and Gold close out the meet with a 3:40.30 400 freestyle relay (Rankin, Anderson, Hourican, Cunningham).
