COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. - The Widener men's basketball team saw their first loss of the regular against Ursinus Saturday afternoon at Helfferich Hall.
The Pride is now 3-1 on the season.
BY THE NUMBERS
- Dominic Dunn led the Pride with 31 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists, and went 8 of 8 from the free throw line.
- Chipping in double digit points as well for the Blue and Gold was Kenny Lewis who added 13, Steven Matlack and Kevin Schenk with 12 and Luke Mazur added 11.
HOW IT HAPPENED
A tough battle on both sides of the ball, the Pride and the Bears never saw a gap in the score higher than six points. There was twelve times when the score was tied between the two teams and the lead was switched seven times. Things got exciting when Dominic Dunn scored two for the Pride to tie the score 76-76 with ten seconds left, forcing an overtime period.
A few turnovers and made free throws by the Bears allowed them to walk away with the victory in overtime.
