READING, Pa. – The Widener field hockey team clinched the fourth seed in the MAC Commonwealth Tournament on Wednesday night following a 2-0 loss to Alvernia on the road in its regular season finale.
The Pride finished the regular season with a 5-3 record inn MAC Commonwealth play and a 10-7 record overall. By doing so, they made the conference tournament for the third straight season.
HOW IT HAPPENED AGAINST ALVERNIA
- After holding the Golden Wolves scoreless in the first period, the Pride allowed a goal in the second period and a goal in the third period.
- The Golden Wolves controlled most of the possession, outshooting the Pride, 14-2, in the contest.
- Lily Rejrat did all she could in goal against the Golden Wolves, making five saves in the defeat.
