CHESTER, Pa. – The Widener University men's soccer team continues to be unbeaten in MAC Commonwealth play with another win against Alvernia on Tuesday evening.
With the victory, the Pride improve to 10-4-2 on the season and 6-0-1 in the MAC Commonwealth.
HOW IT HAPPENED AGAINST ALVERNIA
- After a scoreless first half, Sean Fatiga finds the back of the net from Monsif Atify in the 57th minute to open the scoring gates for the Pride.
- Ten minutes later, Michael Donaghy earned himself his first goal of the 2022 season. Donaghy's goal came with a volley from the top left of the 18-yard box to sneak past Alvernia's goalie.
- Topping off the scoring was another goal by Fatiga from Atify on a free kick in the 82nd minute.
- Pride goalie, Ryan Van Pelt, added three saves to his stats.
- Fatiga kept the pressure on with six shots and four of those being on target.
- The Pride defense did their job, keeping Alvernia to one goal in the 84th minute.
