Men’s Soccer Remains Unbeaten in MAC Conference Play

Pride continues win streak with eight wins

FREDERICK, Md- The Widener men's soccer team picked up another victory on the road against Hood on Saturday afternoon. The win keeps the Pride unbeaten in conference play and secures a spot for them in post-season play. 

The Pride is currently 9-4-2 on the season and 5-0-1 in conference. 

HERE'S HOW IT HAPPENED AGAINST HOOD 

-The Pride got on the board early after scoring two goals within the first seven minutes of the match. The first goal was scored by Ryan Toporowski off an assist by Andrew Hurrel. Hurrel had two assists this match and leads the Pride in assists with four. 

-The second goal came shortly after as Sean Fatiga found the back of the net in the seventh minute.   

-Goals three and four came in in the second half when Hurrell found Fatiga in the 56th minute. Then, in the 60th minute, Fatiga found Max Hartke for the final goal of the match. The Pride was able to prevent any Blazer goals and walk away with a shut-out victory.  

-Widener's offense controlled most of the game, outshooting the Blazers 22 to 12 shots. 

-Two goalies were in the net for the Blue and Gold, both Ryan Van Pelt and Kyle Stone had one save each. 

UP NEXT 

The Pride returns home to face Alvernia to continue conference play. Kick-off is set for 7 p.m.
